UK: Sex case from 23 years sees 3 men in their 30s in the dock.

(Sheffield) The authorities in Yorkshire, are currently prosecuting 3 men: on charges of sexually abusing a 12 year old girl in 1994.

38 year old Sajid Ali, 40 year olds Zaheer Iqbal, and Riaz Makhmood,  face a total of 15 counts of indecent assault that they are said  to have carried out on a girl aged between 12 and 13-years-old in the Masbrough area of Rotherham.  Yes the very same Rotherham which hit the news the other year with the revelation that over 1400 girls had been raped by one gang of Pakistani males alone.

Opening the case yesterday, jurors heard how the three defendants ‘plied’ their young victim with alcohol before pressurising her to perform sex acts on them, often one after the other. The offences are said to have taken place between June 1994 and June 1995, when all of the defendants would themselves have been aged between 15 and 17-years-old.

Yet another case found in Rotherham, which begs me to ask the question not only how many more cases are going to surface in the city, but how many across the UK.
