(Gaza) All we have heard these past few days from the Liberals, media and Islamic world is that Israel is a bully, that they have responded disproportionally to a few home made rockets launched by oppressed people and that Israel has sent Gaza back into the Stone Age by targeting only women and children.
However, the truth has emerged from a very strange direction. The Al Jazeera News agency has published the names, ages and genders of the 237 people killed inside Gaza by Israel between the 7th to the 14th July 2014, and it sings to a very different tune than that being played around the world.
The facts are:
The total number of adult male fatalities is 150, but the ages are only available for 131, There were also 20 female fatalities over the same time frame.
Of the 150 male fatalities, 83 are between the ages of 16-39, 28 are over 40 years old and 20 are under 16 years old. For 19, the age was unspecified, although one of these was listed as a member of Islamic Jihad.
Notably, only about 12 percent of the total fatalities are female, though females make up half the population. Also, the median age of Gazans is reported to be around 15. Males under 15 make up just 13 percent of the total fatalities, even though they represent half of all males in the Gaza Strip.
So, what does this mean? It shows that the IDF are primarily targeting males aged between 16-38. The chart below relates to the death toll as of the 14th.
